To say in just a few words: YouTube follows Twitter way. Google anounced a new feature called “YouTube RealTime”. It will let users see what their friends are watching, rating, commenting, etc. Nowadays just watching video on your computer’s screen means going back to non interactive TV world.

The word “instant” is very important in social networking. Google lost a battle having to close “Google answers”. So, it is a clever step for serious improve of YouTube to prolong it’s life. Without instant share what are you uploading, editing, watching or encoding the future of this huge video data base would be quite misty.

Just one hint for Google: do not forget about 12 seconds of video tweet which offers “Tweetdeck”. Maybe it is time to make just good video tweet website? Will people be interested in 1 or 3 minutes videos in near future?
