Stone Age Of SEO: E-mail Spam In Lithuania

A very simple story happened to me. But I have thought, I had to present it in this blog. You’ll learn how some people imagine SEO and how do they sell their products. Sometimes you can feel like a fellow of the stone age. And Lithuania is not an exception.

1. My hobby is video and audio technologies and I belong to a community called “Elektrik Sketches”. And I have a mailbox associated with this brand name.

2. Yesterday I got an email (spam) to my Elektrik Sketches box directly oriented for video pros. It was in Lithuanian, but I will translate it in English. I tried to preserve style of language and punctuation. The text of the message was:

“Good afternoon,

we can offer new lamps for video camcorders for professional work, for good quality of video, for shooting in bad conditions. We want to offer new lamps BESCOR-PRO with autonomic batteries.

Versions of power 35w, 50w and 100w
Are you interested?

Sincerely
Vaizdo technika
Tel. 8645 33998″

And there was a photo attached:

4. After a few minutes passed I got following email with a text:

“Standard – 5Lt
3ccd professional – 15Lt”

5. I want just to express a bunch of smiles, but I can’t. What is “standard”? What is “3ccd professional”?

6. I became sad a little bit for these guys. It is not funny for me. They should start from the first class, from the beginning how to talk and communicate politely with people. There is nothing to say about advertising or spamming.

Simple And Free Internet Marketing Campaign

1. Do you have a friend or just know a guy, which paints interesting pictures? Sure, you do.

2. Do you have a few unused domain names? Of course, what a question!

3. Do you like collaborating with people and making various unexpected projects? Everybody likes.

4. Do you need a simple and free marketing (or just light promotion) campaign? If you are reading this post, I supose the answer must be “yes”.

5. The last thing: how to combain all previous questions into one logical action?

Here is an answer: Stephen Fry made his tweets more interesting and more valuable (in Twitter sense) together with an artist Morgan Ritchie, which took each day one tweet from Stephen’s tweet flow and turned it into a picture. The project took 100 days and was called “100 Days of Fry”. You may find all illustrations on Morgan’s website.

7. Want to add some bonus to your number of followers on Twitter or to your respect in this social network? Call your friend, which likes to paint, use a separate free domain for a project and do everything in your own way. Add something unique and fresh to a Morgan’s and Stephen’s idea.

1. Nobody will neglect that making SEO is very important to be a member of a few social networks.

2. Social networks are like huge search engines, gathering wide audiences with different tastes and demands.

3. You know very well, that even if you pay much money for the good position and time for your advertisement, it has to have something catchy, what can make people talk about it.

4. Even money can not create attraction to a product or a service, which is presented badly.

5. And otherwise, if the message is original, inovative and fresh it influence people to talk about it.

6. The other steps, which people make are: posting links, writing blog posts, sharing, reviewing, tweeting, commenting, creating parodies etc. And that is all about SEO !

7. To make it short, it means, that people are catching a virus and your media’s ad message could be called viral.

8. How to make things viral? Good question. It is a life purpose of every man. Many books and articles are written about this. Just grow up yourself.

1. If you have a budget for your internet marketing campaign, your task is just to distribute money among different ways of advertising. You may hire also addicts for social networking, buy some good video or audio material etc.

2. When you have money, your knowledge about SEO gets limited. The audience for the website is rising, it is ok. But the reasons for this are quite simple: good place of the ad in a popular website and so on. You just analyse which referrers do more and which do not so good as expected.

3. The true knowledge and understanding of SEO needs time. The value of time talking about SEO is really important. You must have a test website and try to attract audience for it without any budget.

4. Your brain start working from the first moment you begin to create such kind of the “test” website. It could have a real purpose or a practical appliance, of course. But the main goal should be – testing.

5. Only the time shows the importance of used words, tags, names of the articles, names of the internal pages etc.

6. When you try to grab attention of the audience only with the help of free internet tools, the only thing you need is time.

7.a. You have to use social networking creatively. You have not so much time for hourly posting or tweeting. You have to be a little bit rare but creative.

7.b. The words you use when writing show their strenght only after some time. You must be patient. Some of them won’t appear as essential, but some of them show significant impact on the amount of visitors. The strenght becomes heavier also along with the time.

7.c. The value of the content or a service of your site is also time-measurable. The true value of the site, which influences to come again to your daily visitors and new visitors is a long-time building process. You can not make a miracle through a night.

8. Google is made for patient but creative people.

1. SEO is a kind of fake.

2. Sure, there are a few rules to make Google to understand your pages better, but they are not very important.

3. Every website must have treasure, gold mining or other kind of alfa and omega to be interesting, inovative and inspiring.

4. So, we must agree, that SEO is a kind of marketing. The main goal is to seek wider audience.

5. It is no doubt, that to attract visitors have to use marketing tools.

6. Sure, you’ll always win, if you use pop music and topless models to promote common goods and services.

7. The other only way you have is to GROW UP YOURSELF.

8. You have to read, to study, to improve your knowledge in different fields, as much as you can.

9. The next step is you have to present all new information you get in your website.

10. The presentation must be done in analytical and original way.

11. The visitors will be sticked from the first glance.

As you know “Cometos” works worldwide and is located in Lithuania. I want to mention few things about SEO status in this country.

1. An interest in SEO is rising every day.

2. 70-80 % of broker companies ordering SEO are ironical and even defiant about these services.

3. 60-70 % of direct clients are also sceptical about SEO.

4. SEO is mistaken with company’s public relations.

5. SEO is mistaken with publicity compaigns done by advertising agencies.

6. If you can not offer a “real” SEO and social networking compaign for a manufacturer of cement, it means SEO is useless.
