A very simple story happened to me. But I have thought, I had to present it in this blog. You’ll learn how some people imagine SEO and how do they sell their products. Sometimes you can feel like a fellow of the stone age. And Lithuania is not an exception.

1. My hobby is video and audio technologies and I belong to a community called “Elektrik Sketches”. And I have a mailbox associated with this brand name.

2. Yesterday I got an email (spam) to my Elektrik Sketches box directly oriented for video pros. It was in Lithuanian, but I will translate it in English. I tried to preserve style of language and punctuation.  The text of the message was:

“Good afternoon,

we can offer new lamps for video camcorders for professional work, for good quality of video, for shooting in bad conditions. We want to offer new lamps BESCOR-PRO with autonomic batteries.

Versions of power 35w, 50w and 100w
Are you interested?

Tel. 8645 33998″

1. If you have a budget for your internet marketing campaign, your task is just to distribute money among different ways of advertising. You may hire also addicts for social networking, buy some good video or audio material etc.

2. When you have money, your knowledge about SEO gets limited. The audience for the website is rising, it is ok. But the reasons for this are quite simple: good place of the ad in a popular website and so on. You just analyse which referrers do more and which do not so good as expected.

3. The true knowledge and understanding of SEO needs time. The value of time talking about SEO is really important. You must have a test website and try to attract audience for it without any budget.

Microsoft started officialy tweeting. At the time it has just three tweets and 4138 followers. The account is being ruled by its corporate communications team, consisting of four people. 4 men just for Twitter! It shows, how seriously companies rate social media websites.

1. An interest in SEO is rising every day.

2. 70-80 % of broker companies ordering SEO are ironical and even defiant about these services.

3. 60-70 % of direct clients are also sceptical about SEO.

4. SEO is mistaken with company’s public relations.

5. SEO is mistaken with publicity compaigns done by advertising agencies.

6. If you can not offer a “real” SEO and social networking compaign for a manufacturer of cement, it means SEO is useless.
